All the District Educational Officers & Ex-Officio Project Coordinators of RMSA in the State are hereby informed that the Children with Special Needs (CwSN) of Classes IX and X are eligible to get Allowances & Stipendas per norms of MHRD, GoI, New Delhi. The entitled amounts are being disbursed through the bank accounts of the CwSN since 2016-17.

It is found that funds could not be deposited to nearly 30 to 40%of CwSN Bank accounts, due to invalid bank accounts, accounts

getting closed, bank account not being maintained with minimum balanceof Rs.500/-, penalty collected from the account holder by the Bank, etc.

In view of the above, this office has discussed and agreed with the Department of Posts to disburse the entitled Allowances to 3548 CwSN, and Stipend to the 6493 CwCN Girl students, for the year 2018-19, through Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) accounts so as to avoid the above mentioned hurdles and challenges faced with regards to Savings Bank Accounts opened in the Banks.

The Department of Posts has informed that the POSB Account will not be closed even if there are no transactions for three years and Rs.50/-
