Omandur Ramasamy Birthday

Birth:

He was Born in February 1,1895.

Honours:

He is a Tamil politician from the Indian National Congress.

He was appointed Chief Minister of the Madras Presidency in 1947 With the support of Kamarajar.

He served as Chief Minister until April 1949.

During his tenure, the Madras Temple Entry Authorization Act 1947 was passed.This act was intended to give Dalits and other prohibited Hindus full and complete rights to enter Hindu temples.

He also abolished the Zamin and Inamadarmethods.

He took steps against corruption.

He enacted the Hindu Religious Endowments Act.

He brought the law to abolish the Devadasi system in Hindu Temple.

Omandur Ramasamy Reddy’s memorial manimandapam created by the Tamil Nadu government at Omantur in Villupuram district.

Kalpana in Sanskrit means fiction.

Kalpana joined NASA Astronaut Training Group in March 1995.In 1996 She was selected for his first trip.

The first Indian woman who went on a spacecraft after Rakesh Sharma who traveled to the Soviet spacecraft in 1984.

On his first visit to Kalpana, She traveled 360 hours from space, traveling around 10.67 million kilometers and traveled 252 times around the Earth.

The space medal given by the US Congress.

NASA Space Flight Medal.

NASA Distinguished Service Medal.

Karnataka government has been awarded Kalpana Chawla since 2004 to encourage young female scientists.
