In Arunachal Pradesh, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the Diffo Bridge over Chipu River in Lower Dibang Valley District. The bridge is 426 mts in length and its work started in 2011.

India lodges protest over Pak’s SC order on “Gilgit-Baltistan”
India summoned the Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan and a strong protest was lodged on recent order by Pakistan’s Supreme Court on the so-called “Gilgit-Baltistan” which is an interference in India’s internal affairs.

Women to get 20% jobs in Military Police
The government has decided to induct women for the first time in Personnel Below Officer Rank, PBOR, role in Corps of Military Police. The women will be inducted in graded manner to eventually comprise 20 per cent of total Corps of Military Police.
Currently, women are allowed in select areas such as medical, legal, educational, signals and engineering wings of the Army.
